Crime & The City Solution – American Twilight

Veterans of the same Seventies Melbourne punk-shamanism class as Nick Cave, Crime & The City Solution ended up transplanted to America via decadent pre-unification Berlin.
Returning to active service, the band takes a global perspective, from the title track’s hard-funk depiction of Detroit’s decline, to the MC5 play mariachi music romanticism of My Love Takes Me There.
Here’s an unexpectedly cohesive set of intelligent, classy, and thunderous widescreen alterno-rock destined to raise the roofs of publicly funded venues in any European cities that still have an arts budget.
